WELCOME TO POLAR IMAGING
Polar Imaging Limited was founded in 2006 with the aim of supporting safe and efficient offshore activities at high latitudes through the use of satellite technologies. The early years of this century have seen a major increase in activity in the Arctic, particularly in oil and gas exploration, but also in transportation, tourism and fishing. Given the remote, inhospitable, and sensitive nature of the polar regions, satellites represent the primary means of supporting these activities responsibly through the use of wide and frequent all-weather, day-and-night imaging of the environment, navigation support through precise positioning and remote area communications.
The main focus of Polar Imaging Limited is on the use of satellite imaging to support offshore operations, and in particular to address the unique problems of planning and supporting operations in areas subject to ice encroachment, involving sea ice and icebergs.
ABOUT US
Polar Imaging is owned by Kim Partington, who has over 28 years experience in the use of satellite technologies for monitoring polar ice. Polar Imaging is able to provide consultancy or work with partners to plan and implement the use of satellite-based technologies in supporting high latitude operations, in terms of technical performance, cost effectiveness and long term flexibility.
